Questlove announced a new book about Abrams called Music Is History this October. The Roots drummer and DJ’s latest work is a non-fiction look at the last half century of music in which he has been writing about one song every year since 1971. The years that intersect with Questlove’s own life will include anecdotes from his experiences as a youthful fan and musician.
In February it was announced that Questlove would be shooting an upcoming documentary about Sly Stone. After his documentary Summer of Soul won the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance, Hulu and Searchlight Pictures picked it up for distribution. The film opens on July 2nd.
