Raekwon and Ghostface Killah competed in VERZUZ on Saturday evening (March 20) for a showdown of the Wu-Tang family. See the breakdown by lap below.

During their time together, the two remembered a trip to Barbados together. RZA came over to say hello as Young Dirty Bastard, the son of the late Wu-Tang employee Ol ‘Dirty Bastard. RZA later returned for a toast towards the end of the show. Cappadonna appeared to be playing his guest verse on Raekwon’s “Ice Cream” and Masta Killa appeared on “Glaciers of Ice”. Ghostface Killah joined Raekwon playing “Criminology” from his 1995 solo debut “Only Built 4 Cuban Linx”.

After “halftime,” Raekwon announced that he was drunk and would resume the trial without waiting for Ghostface Killah to return from his hiatus. Inspectah Deck then escorted him to Wu-Tang Clan’s “CREAM,” and Ghostface returned to the set in a white ankle-length mink coat. In the 19th round Raekwon started with Jodeci’s “Freek’n You (Mr. Dalvin’s Freek Mix)”, which Ghostface finished on his turn.

VERZUZ returned for its second season late last year, showing a “Legends of the Bay” face-off between Too $ hort and E-40 in December, as well as a twice scheduled fight between Ashanti and Keyshia Cole. D’Angelo messed up the format in February with a solo appearance at the Apollo Theater that saw Redman, Method Man and HER join him as guests. Earlier this month founders Timbaland and Swizz Beats announced that they had sold VERZUZ to the short-form video app Triller, with former VERZUZ cast members involved in the new setup.
