Rian Johnson spoke to Dave Filoni about directing an episode of The Mandalorian
In a recent interview with USA Today’s Sariah Wilson, critically acclaimed director Rian Johnson took over the helm Star Wars: The Last Jediannounced that he would like to return to this galaxy far, far away. Instead of a movie, however, Johnson would like to direct an episode of the hit Disney + show The Mandalorian. In fact, he’s already spoken to co-executive producer Dave Filoni about getting involved.

“I asked Rian if he would ever consider doing an episode of The Mandalorian.” Wilson revealed on Twitter. “He said he was going to die, but for him it’s all about planning. He wrote [Knives Out 2] and now he’s going to start filming it right away. So it would be a matter of time to break free and do it. He said he spoke to Dave Filoni about it. “
Of course, the chances that Johnson will find the time to break away from him Knife out 2 are slim, especially considering that Netflix basically gave him all of the money to turn his popular Whodunit into a franchise. There’s always a question as to whether fans want Johnson to return to their beloved franchise after the very divisive reaction on The last Jedi.
