In May, Slowthai announced its own one-day festival Happyland for September this year. Now he has postponed the event and suggests that it be postponed until next year. “Unfortunately, due to things beyond my control, we weren’t able to put the show together at the level I wanted for the very first event,” the rapper said in a tweeted statement you can read below.

Happyland was to take place in Northampton, Slowthai’s British hometown, on the city’s cricket ground. Shygirl, Idles, Beabadoobee and Pa Salieu were among those who were to perform alongside Slowthai himself.

Slowthai Released Tyron was released earlier this year. Read Pitchfork Rising’s interview with the rapper.
