After the news hit street posters, St. Vincent officially announced their new album Daddy’s Home and released their first single, “Pay Your Way in Pain”. The album will be released on May 14th via Loma Vista. Check out the Pay Your Way in Pain video, as well as the album’s artwork and track list below.
According to a press release, St. Vincent began writing some Daddy’s Home songs in the winter of 2019. This was around the time her father was released from prison after nine years in prison. In a recent interview with Laura Snapes for The Guardian, it was revealed that the album’s title track was inspired by St. Vincent, who brought her father home from prison.
Annie Clark produced her new album with Jack Antonoff. In addition to Clark and Antonoff, the album includes performances by Cian Riordan, Evan Smith, Sam KS, Greg Leisz, Daniel Hart, Michael Leonhard, Lynne Fiddmont and Kenya Hathaway.
The last studio album from St. Vincent was MASSEDUCTION in 2017. Clark then shared several versions of the album, including a stripped-down acoustic version from 2018 (MassEducation) and a remix version from 2019 entitled Nina Kraviz Presents Masseduction Rewired.
