Take Out Girl trailer for a real life inspired dramatic thriller
After debuting to strong reviews at the American Black Film Festival and various other events, 1091 Pictures has released the first trailer for the drama-thriller Take out girls inspired by true events in the life of co-author and star Hedy Wong. The trailer can be viewed in the player below!

Co-writer of Wong and indigenous director Hisonni Johnson (Grayson: Earth One) the story revolves around Tera (Wong), a 20-year-old Asian-American woman who turns her expertise in family restaurant delivery into a profitable drug business to support her immigrant mother’s troubled business.
“We went out of our way to create a universally relatable story without sacrificing the color of its roots. That’s why we retained the Asian-American voice, experience and authenticity,” Wong and Johnson wrote in a statement. “In turbulent political times like now Take out girls manages to demystify the narrative of the “other” and the divisive myth of the “model minority” that the media have historically used to play off minorities against each other. We hope so Take out girls makes a positive contribution to America’s social climate by provoking healthy conversations about the different cultural structures of this country and our common struggles. We strongly believe that diversity is a source of strength, not of division. ”
In addition to Wong, Ski Carr (SHIELD agents, Blue Bloods), Lynna Yee (Degrees off the boat), J. Teddy Garces (Days of our lives, Zane is the takeoff), Lorin Ly (Raskal Love, one day), Dijon Talton (Glee how to get away with murder) and rapper $ tupid Young in a cameo role.

The film, which won Best Director at the American Black Film Festival, Robert Rodriguez Indie Writer of the Year at the Bare Bones Film Festival and Raising Voices Award at the DisOrient Film Festival, will be available to rent or buy on digital platforms on May 18 offered!
