Red Sonja: Tasha Huo writes fantasy adaptation with director Joey Soloway

The Hollywood Reporter brings the news that Tasha Huo will write Millennium’s fantasy adaptation of Red Sonja with director Joey Soloway, based on the 1970s comic book heroine. Huo will appear as the showrunner and executive producer on Netflix’s upcoming animation Tomb Raider Series.

Andrea Sperling will also produce on behalf of Topple, with Yariv Lerner from Millennium, Jeffrey Greenstein, Younger, Les Weldon, Joe Gatta and Tanner Mobley also producing. Red Sonja is a sword-and-sorcery character based on the comics created for Marvel Comics in 1973 by Robert E. Howard, writer Roy Thomas, and artist Barry Windsor Smith. The comics will be released today through Dynamite Entertainment.
