AEG, Live Nation, the National Independent Venue Association (NIVA), and many other event production companies have sent a letter to President Biden offering their rooms and services in support of the delivery of the COVID-19 vaccine. Read the full letter here.

The letter, which noted that there are already many places already working on implementing vaccination programs at the state and local levels, stated that places currently unused would be ideal locations for vaccine delivery. “Venues are ideal vaccination sites in the community,” says the letter. “They are in most urban, suburban, and rural communities, often near transit lines and with easy access to parking. Our interiors are clear with bright work lights and empty standard cooling systems. Due to the nature of our business, our buildings and employees are used to customer queues and crowd management. “

The joint letter also notes that the live events industry is “one of the best prepared, best equipped, and most experienced industries in America for managing and controlling large crowds quickly and in an organized manner. Moving people quickly and safely in, out of and around a public assembly room is the foundation of our industry. Additionally, our familiarity with ticketing systems for advanced notification, timed entry, and crowd management can greatly improve the patient experience before and during vaccination, as well as on-site management. “

NIVA was launched in April 2020 in response to the huge financial burden on venues that were closed following the COVID-19 outbreak. While this has not yet been confirmed, it has been reported that Goldenvoice – the company that offers Coachella – is talking to Riverside County about a potential COVID-19 mass vaccination site.
