Ticket to Paradise: George Clooney & Julia Roberts meet again for Rom-Com

Deadline brings news that Oscar winner George Clooney (Argo, Syriana, Michael Clayton) and Julia Roberts (Erin Brockovich, August: Osage County, Homecoming) will star in the upcoming romantic comedy Ticket to paradise. The film is directed by Ol Parker (Mamma Mia! here we go again, Now is fine) for universal images and working titles.

In the film, Clooney and Roberts will play a divorced couple who team up and travel to Bali to stop their daughter from making the same mistake they made 25 years ago.

Parker wrote the script with Daniel Pipski. Working Title’s Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner will co-produce the project with Sarah Harvey and Deborah Balderstone. Clooney will also produce alongside his Smokehouse Pictures partner Grant Heslov. Roberts will produce with Lisa Gillian and Marisa Yeres Gill, the Red Om Films team.

Production on Ticket to paradise is expected to start later this year. Erik Baiers, Senior Executive Vice President of Production at Universal, and Lexi Barta, Director of Development, will oversee the project on behalf of the studio.

Clooney and Roberts previously starred together Ocean’s Eleven Films as well as 2016 Money monsterdirected by Jodie Foster.
