The Untitled David O. Russell Project adds nine to the ensemble

As if he didn’t have a star cast for his upcoming project, Oscar-nominated writer / director David O. Russell (American bustle) has added nine new stars to its ensemble roster, according to the deadline.

The mystery project, which is currently being produced in California, will now also win Oscar-winning Robert De Niro (The Irish joker), Emmy winner Mike Myers (Inglorious Basterds, Bohemian Rhapsody), Emmy nominee Timothy Olyphant (The Mandalorian, Deadwood: The Movie), Oscar nominee Michael Shannon (Knife out the shape of the water), Golden Globe nominee Chris Rock (Fargo the witches), Anya Taylor-Joy (The new mutants, the witch), Andrea Riseborough (Owner, The Death of Stalin), Matthias Schoenaerts (The old guard, a hidden life) and Alessandro Nivola (The art of self-defense, the many Newark Saints).

You will join a star-studded cast that already consists of Oscar winner Christian Bale and Oscar nominee Margot Robbie (I, Tonya), John David Washington (BlacKkKlansman, principle), Michael B. Jordan (Black Panther, Creed), Oscar winner Rami Malek (The little things, no time to die) and Zoe Saldana (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Star Trek Beyond).

Russell will write and direct the project that will bring him together with Bale for the third time after the two team up The fighter (for which Bale won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor) and American bustle. It’s also a reunion between the director and Nivola and De Niro, in which the former starred previously American bustle and the latter with silver linings Playbook and joy and a cameo in hustle. More details about the plot and characters are still under wraps, but it’s supposed to be based on Russell’s original idea.
