The Nigerian singer-songwriter Fireboy DML was the musical guest on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon last night (February 12th). For his US late night debut, Fireboy played a medley of “Champion” from his latest studio album Apollo and his 2019 track “Vibration” from Laughter, Tears and Goosebumps. He was joined by a full band and two dancers – watch the clip below.

At another point during the show, host Jimmy Fallon congratulated Questlove on his awards for the 2021 Sundance Film Festival. Earlier this week, Questlove-directed documentary Summer of Soul (… or when the revolution couldn’t be televised) starred the Grand Jury Prize of the US Documentary Film Competition and the Audience Prize.

Apollo arrived last summer. The 17-track album includes performances by D Smoke, Wande Coal and Olamide. Last month Fireboy released a music video for his Apollo track “Spell” with Coal. Not only did Fireboy release his own music last year, but he also jumped on Tiwa Savage’s track “Temptation”. The single includes vocals from Sam Smith, who wrote the song with Fireboy.
