St. Vincent was the musical guest on Saturday Night Live last night (April 3rd), where she performed two songs from her upcoming album Daddy’s Home: “Pay Your Way in Pain” and the latest single, “The Melting of the Sun”. which was produced together with Jack Antonoff. St. Vincent was accompanied on stage by a full band and a trio of singers. Actor Daniel Kaluuya (Judas and the Black Messiah, Get Out) hosted the episode. Check out St. Vincent’s performances below.

In the show’s opening sketch, a talk show by Britney Spears (Chloe Fineman), Lil Nas X (Chris Redd) addressed the recent controversy over the new video for “MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name)”. He danced suggestively disguised as God on Mikey Day to balance things out. Lil Nas X responded by tweeting “Snl Going to Hell”.

Daddy’s Home, the continuation of Masseduction 2017, will be released on May 14th via Loma Vista. In 2018 the singer-songwriter released MassEducation, a scaled-down version of her previous album, which was recorded with Thomas Bartlett at the piano.
