In the new Night Court, which is a reboot of the 1984 legal comedy series, Larroquette will repeat his role as Night Court District Attorney Dan Fielding. As for Rauch, she will play the unapologetic optimist Abby Stone, a new character created for the show. Early reports suggest the reboot is geared towards a pilot order from NBC.

For Rauch, this is the actress’s first role since starring in The big Bang Theory. Rauch is also affiliated with that Night dish Restarting as executive producer and reportedly not participating in the show as an actor until after reading the script. The new start is written and produced by Dan Rubin. Abby Stone follows in her father’s footsteps as she runs the night shift at a Manhattan court. The original Night dish played the late Harry Anderson as Judge Harold “Harry” T. Stone.

Melissa Rauch and Winston Rauch will be producing through their production company, Executive Productions, after January. The company produces in partnership with WBTV, which was also the studio behind the original series. Rauch reached out to the studio about a possible reboot of the popular series because she was a fan of the show.
