DC is coming Shazam! Anger of the gods is still filming with a view to release in 2023. However, the recent photos have given fans clues about a potential romance that will sprout in the film.

In a clip recently recorded from the set, Shazam (Zachary Levi) and The Wizard (Djimon Hounsou) can be seen giving a quick kiss to Rachel Zegler’s character Freddy Freeman, Billy’s foster brother. It’s unclear who will portray Zegler in the film, but rumors have spread that she could be one of Atlas’ daughters and sister to the villainous characters of Helen Mirren and Lucy Liu.

Shazam! Anger of the gods will feature the return of Asher Angel and Levi as they repeat their respective roles as Billy Batson and Shazam. They are joined by most of the leading actors from the first film, including Jack Dylan Grazer and Adam Brody as Freddy; Faithe Herman and Meagan Good as Darla; Ian Chen and Ross Bulter as Eugene; Grace Fulton as Mary; Jovan Arman and DJ Cotrona as Pedro; Marta Milans and Cooper Andrews.
After defeating Sivana and the Seven Deadly Sins in the 2019 film, the Shazam family will face much more dangerous threats in the sequel, with the introduction of the daughters of Atlas, Hespera and Calypso, those of Oscar. Winner Helen Mirren and Kill Bill actress Lucy Liu are to be portrayed. West Side Story star Rachel Zeigler was also cast in an undisclosed key role.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods is again directed by David F. Sandberg (Annabelle: Creation) from a script by returning writer Henry Gayden. It is produced by Peter Safran.
The sequel is currently to appear on June 2nd, 2023.
